
I produced and directed Signing Day, a documentary feature film about three high school seniors competing for the prize of a full-ride college scholarship in the high stakes world of college football recruiting.

As director and primary shooter, my goal was a dynamic image that translated the emotional experience of our three young subjects, gave power and meaning to every cut, and relentlessly propelled the story forward. What we lacked in budget, I strived to make up for with a focus on capturing rich, meaningful imagery, from the small, but telling detail to the world-building perspective revealing the big picture.
To begin building an audience for the film, I produced the original web series, The Next Level, from unused interview footage from the film featuring current and former NFL players discussing their own college recruiting experience.
EPISODE #5: Bobby Wagner of the Seattle Seahawks tells his story of only receiving one scholarship offer from Utah State and how playing for a smaller school didn't stop him from being selected in the 2nd round of the NFL Draft. "To me, everything happens for a reason..."
